Michigan Central is pleased to introduce Cornetta Lane-Smith as the new director of community engagement. She is a lifelong Detroiter well-known for founding several community-driven projects including Pedal to Porch, Core City Stories and Dinner for 30. Lane-Smith is deeply involved in creating opportunities for people to uplift and celebrate Detroit\u2019s neighborhoods, history, culture and identity.\u202f <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m honored to engage the community in the ongoing work at Michigan Central and to facilitate continuous conversation about advancing equity,\u201d she said. \u201cI grew up in Core City, just up the street from Michigan Central, so I am grateful to bring a perspective that is rooted in my neighborhood experiences.\u202f <\/p>\n

\u201cAs work progresses, I will be focused on centering community voices to ensure Michigan Central\u2019s long-term relevancy and benefit to our community.\u201d <\/p>\n
