ChargerHelp!\u2019s first cohort completed training in January, in a first of its kind program nationally. The 15 Detroiters who completed the program are now certified as EV charger maintenance technicians, expecting to make at least $50,000 a year, with demand and pay almost certain to grow.<\/p>\n

ChargerHelp!\u2019s second training cohort began in March with 20 learners, 25% of them women. The free, 12 to 16-week training program is open to Detroit residents who have reading skills at a ninth-grade level and have earned a high school diploma or GED. For residents without a GED, the City\u2019s Detroit at Work program can help residents earn one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
